A.I.R. draw is a Chrome extension that overlays gesture-drawn and AI-generated
diagrams onto your outgoing camera on Google Meet and Zoom (web). This policy
explains exactly what the extension does and does not do with your data.
What stays on your device
- Your video never leaves your computer. All camera processing — hand tracking and person segmentation (Google MediaPipe) — runs locally in your browser. No video frames are uploaded anywhere.
- The extension contains no analytics, tracking, or telemetry. It does not phone home, except for the two narrowly-scoped requests below.
What leaves your device, only when you ask
- Voice / typed descriptions → Google Gemini. When you use the voice-to-diagram feature (push-to-talk) or type a description and press “Draw it”, the extension sends only that audio clip or text to Google’s Gemini API, using your own API key that you paste into the widget. It is used solely to generate the diagram. Your key is stored locally in your browser and is never sent anywhere except Google’s API. Your use of Gemini is governed by Google’s API terms.
- Update check → GitHub. On load, the extension checks the public GitHub Releases API for a newer version. This request contains no personal data.
Permissions, and why
- Camera — to composite your drawings onto the outgoing video. Processed locally.
- Microphone — only while you hold the push-to-talk key, to record the clip sent to Gemini.
- Access to meet.google.com and *.zoom.us — to inject the overlay on those sites only.
- Access to generativelanguage.googleapis.com — to call Gemini with your key.
- Storage — to remember your settings (API key, toggles, widget state) on your device.
